Residence on the Rocks
Situated atop a ridge that overlooks both Takamaka Bay and Intendance, Residence on the Rocks is a colonial-style villa. The Residence is hidden amongst primary forest vegetation on a hill side being a few minutes walk from the Intendance beach. All areas of the Residence have a fantastic view of Intendance Bay and the breaking waves can be easily heard.

From the airport is appoximately 35 minutes to Residence on the Rocks. If you want to visit Victoria, the main capital of the Seychelles, then you will need 45 minutes by car as from the Residence.
Rooms

All rooms have air conditioning (included), CD player, hair dryer, internet access (at cost), mini-bar, safe , satellite television, telephone.
The main building and guest house are surrounded in front and on the side with the typical Creole style flat roofed verandah in a colonnade design.
Main building
The two story main building has two large bedrooms, both with a king master bed. The master bedroom has a large dressing room adjacent to the bathroom and an elevated work/study area.
A central court yard is separating the upstairs bedroom/downstairs lounge part from the upstairs bedroom/downstairs dining room kitchen section.
There is a fully equipped kitchen/dining room downstairs. The main lounge (below the master bedroom) has and elevated library entertainment section. One of the granite walls protrudes into this room.
Seperate cottages
Two large bedrooms are in cottages (some 30 yards to the side of the central pool) with separate access pathways, which enhances family life and interaction and makes it a perfect retreat for multi-generational groupings. One bedroom has a twin with one king and one queen size bed. The other bedroom has a twin configuration but the two bed can also be combined in on king size unit.
Below the guest house there is an utility/room service area which has now be converted in accommodation for the caretakers.
The above provides for an expansive outdoor living are surrounded by large granite rock formations and a high perimeter wall providing for absolute privacy and exclusivity.
General facilities
The privately owned property is located on the Banyan Tree Estate and is partially managed by the resort.

- use of the hotel pool and the tennis court Banyan Tree Resort

Guests of the Residence on the Rocks can enjoy some of their services, including room service, security and laundry.
A caretaker couple lives on the premises and is available on a 24/7 basis to take care of the daily needs of the guests. It offers a hideaway type of setting which, in the Seychelles context, is unmatched in terms of privacy and exclusivity.
In a rock cave next to the Gazebo there is a large Jacuzzi which gets its water supply from the main pool. The pool is of the infinity/overflow design on three sides and on the southern end the pool is encompassing a granite wall.
If you go to the east side of Mahe to Anse Royale which is the second biggest 'urban center' after Victoria you will find shops and restaurants and bank facilities like ATM machine.
Activities
Rent a car
If you are a confident driver or have one in your party it is strongly suggested to rent a car for your stay at Residence on the Rocks. It will give you a lot of freedom to explore Mahe and especially the wilder parts of the South of the island.

Breakfast is included at the main resort restaurant or on a room service basis.
Additional Services can be provided by Banyan Tree Resort:

- Shopping for Food and Beverage supplies
Having your own rental car will allow you to sample a range of local food and beverage outlets at the southern end of the island.
Supermarket
At 3.4 kms from the Residence up on the main road is Taka Maka where there is a very well stocked super market called Sekaar. It's an ideal place to buy awide range of alcoholic and none alcoholic beverages and food item including fresh bread fruits. The butler will know where it is and will be happy to join you on such a shopping excursion and prepare casual meals at the residence.
For sure there are a range of restaurants within easy driving distance of the residence which make it possible to sample the local cuisine for casual luncheons or diners.
Some suggestions:
- Up the coast at 5.5 km from the Residence is the Alamanda Hotel with their Palm restaurant.
- At 6.6 km from the Residence is the Surf Cafe right on the road overlooking a very pleasant beach. It is open for lunch and diner as well as casual snacks.
- At Anse Royale, at 10.3 km from the Residence, there are two restaurants: The Kaz Creole is Creole has good Pizzas and a Chinese section to the menu.
