Desroches Island
or Île Desroches is part of a remote coral attol 230km south-west of Mahe in the secluded Amirantes group of the Seychelles outer isles.
It is 6.2 km long and has a land area of 3.24 km2. Along its circumference of 15 km is a beach of fine sand. Conservation on the island is managed by Island Conservation Society.
From the Seychelles International airport on Mahé it’s a 45 minute flight to Desroches Island.
Located only 5˚ south of the equator Desroches is blessed with one of the world’s healthiest, malaria-free climates.
Desroches Island is one of only two Outer Islands with accommodation.

The Beach Suites, Beach Villas and the opulent Madame Zabre offer a sense of space, both indoors and out, with magnificent ocean views and pristine beaches just a few paces away.
Beach Suites
The 82m² Beach Suites are set amongst lush tropical gardens just metres from the beach. They are ideally located close to the central hotel area, dining facilities, swimming pool, Escape Spa and Cast-A-Way Centre.
These spacious Suites are all air-conditioned and have a private terrace with day bed, lounge area, flat screen TV, DVD player and mini-bar. The spacious bathrooms have double vanity, a covered outdoor bath, outdoor shower and a separate toilet and bidet.
Beach Villa Five Bedroom
These exclusive and spacious 881m² private Villas, complete with five luxurious bedrooms and 3 pools, are perfect for couples, friends and families seeking indulgence in their own idyllic island residence.
With magnificent views centred over the large infinity swimming pool, these Beach Villas offer a modern Miele kitchen, dining area, entertainment and chill-out spaces equipped with television, DVD player, iPod docking station and Wi-Fi connection. Catering for up to eight adults and two children,
there are five en-suite, air-conditioned bedrooms, four of which are sea-facing with their own deck. Two of these master bedrooms feature a private garden with plunge pool; open-air bathrooms with bath
plus indoor and outdoor showers and a TV, DVD player, iPod docking station and Wi-Fi. The gardenfacing, en-suite bedroom has a private entrance.
Beach Villa Four Bedroom
The 440m² Beach Villas, with four bedrooms and a pool, face unblemished beaches and are perfectly positioned amongst indigenous foliage. Three air-conditioned, en-suite, sea-facing bedrooms lead off the main entertainment area, while the fourth en-suite, air-conditioned bedroom is slightly smaller and faces the garden. The Villa accommodates up to six adults and two children.
Magnificent sea views can be enjoyed from the modern kitchen, private pool and central living and open-plan entertainment area, which is equipped with television, DVD player, iPod docking station and Wi-Fi connection.
Beach Villa Three Bedroom (Dibwa retreat)
These 661m2 Beach Villas encompass nature, earth and the sea with a rustic feel and stylish colours. Each Beach Villa has three air-conditioned en-suite bedrooms, two of which are sea-facing with a large deck. The third garden-facing room has an en-suite indoor shower and a private entrance.
Accommodating up to 6 people (four adults and two children), the Villa boasts magnificent views from the large infinity swimming pool, modern Miele kitchen, dining area, entertainment and chillout space, and is equipped with TV, DVD player, iPod docking station and Wi-Fi connection.
Luxury Beach Suite
The 110m² Luxury Beach Suites are nestled within a tropical forest, just metres from the white sandy beaches. This Luxury Beach Suite, with private plunge pool, single en-suite bedroom and a sea-facing deck offers intimate island accommodation for couples or singles seeking solitude and privacy.
The en-suite with bath plus indoor and outdoor showers, forms part of
an indigenous garden with a private plunge pool. Inspired by the surroundings, the Luxury Beach Suites are decorated in a unique natural style.
Madam Zabre Villa
The 767m² Madame Zabre Villa, an opulent 3 bedroomed haven, is arguably the most exclusive in the Seychelles. Situated on Madame Zabre Beach, this single Villa is surrounded by dense, green foliage and is designed for blissful relaxation in a tranquil setting.
With three private swimming pools, a large central living and entertainment area, as well as a modern, fully equipped Miele kitchen, Madame Zabre, catering for up to 6 adults, offers an ideal escape for couples, families or friends. The three glass-fronted, sea-facing bedrooms are air-conditioned, with indoor and outdoor showers, as well as an outdoor bath. Each bedroom
has a private chill space leading onto a large wooden deck with its own pool and sala.
All rooms feature a television with DVD player, iPod docking station and Wi-Fi connection. The design allows a choice of either pure privacy, or open living in a style that helps relax the body and unwind the mind.

Activities
On Desroches Island Seychelles you can do a lot of activities.
TONE Gym and weight lifting area is a perfect spot to work out whilst watching the sunset.
Cycling around the island’s jungle (on your own personal bike), or explorations to the northern point and deserted beaches allow you to lose yourself on this paradise island.
Play The floodlit tennis court is a super way to exercise a little once the sun has set.
Nature walks The resident conservation team offer guided informative nature walks around the island, where guests may learn about current research projects and the endangered fauna and flora species on the Island and Rehabilitation.
OTHER For a more relaxing option, enjoy sensuous spa treatments at Escape or catered picnics either on the beach or under the tropical palm trees, and private sunset cruises, which offer stunning views of the Island from a different angle.
Scuba with friendly and attentive professionals, exploring the 14 classified sites, including the mysterious underwater caves and columns. PADI diving courses (in English) are offered at the hotel’s dive centre.
Deep sea diving off the world renowned Desroches’ ‘drop-off’.
Guided snorkelling trips offer the opportunity of viewing turtles gliding between shoals of multi-coloured tropical fish.
Game Fishing Desroches, St Joseph and Poivre Atolls have some of the greatest off-shore angling that the Seychelles waters have to offer. What makes this area so rich in fish stock is the 1 300 meter Amirante Trench, which separates these atolls and brings a constant rich flow of current.
This natural sanctuary is home to flagship species such as Sailfish, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Giant Trevally, Dorado, Tropical Amberjack, Green and Rosy Jobfish, as well as a variety of Trevally, Snapper, Wrasse and Grouper. Anglers can target the diversity of species by trawling, bait and switch, spinning, popping or jigging onboard one of the various vessels available for charter.
